Deputy Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Andries Nel, says the country's criminal justice system, including the Criminal Procedure Act, must be transformed to be more effective, efficient, integrated, victim-centred, and in keeping with the Constitution. He was speaking during a media briefing on the release of four discussion papers by the South African Law Reform Commission on the review of the Criminal Procedure Act in Pretoria.
