Rules Board: Members

Current Members:

• Justice N Dambuza – Judge of the Constitutional Court of South Africa and Chairperson of Board. Appointed in terms of section 3(1)(a)

• Justice N Mabindla Boqwana- Judge President of the Western Cape Division of the High Court and Deputy Chairperson of the Board  appointed in terms of section 3(1)(b)

• Ms. HJ Wessels – Regional Court President Polokwane. Appointed in terms of section 3(1)(c)
• Kgomotso Mphahlele – South African Board for Sheriffs, appointed in terms of section 3(1)(i).
• Mr. P Setati – Department of Justice and CD. Appointed in terms of section 3(1)(g)
• Maryke van Rooyen – Advocate of the Brooklyn Advocates Chambers, appointed in terms of section 3(1)(d).
• Advocate Karusha Kollapen – Advocate of the Pretoria Society of Advocates appointed in terms of section 3(1)(d)
• Mr Mhlangabezi Maliwa -  Attorney Law Society of South Africa appointed in terms of section 3(1)(e).
• Silindile Salvatoris Miya Hlatshwayo – Attorney: Law Society of South Africa, appointed in terms of section 3(1)(1A).
• Meerushni Govender – Attorney: Law Society of South Africa, appointed in terms of section 3(1)(e).
• Professor T Broodryk - Law lecturer appointed in terms of section 3(1)(f)
• Mr O.M Krieling - Chief Magistrate, Kimberley, appointed in terms of section 3(1)( c) of the Act.
• Mr Jayanth Kumar Balkishun - Advocate appointed in terms of section 3(1)(h).

 

Rules Board: Secretariat

The establishment of the Secretariat are all Department of Justice officials who occupy the following posts:

• a Deputy Chief State Law Adviser/Chief Director who acts as the Secretary of the Board;
• three principal state law advisers who perform the function of committee secretaries, compile research, consult with role-players and draft amendments to the rules;
• six state law advisers who perform the necessary research; and
• administrative staff.
