The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mmamoloko Kubayi, will tomorrow, Wednesday, 03 December 2025 at 15h00, on the occasion of responding to questions for oral reply, brief Members of Parliament in the National Assembly on key issues of national importance relating to the justice system and the country’s efforts to combat crime and corruption.
Minister Kubayi will also provide an update on government’s ongoing interventions to strengthen the justice system’s response to Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF), including measures aimed at enhancing survivor support and improving accountability across the sector.
The Minister will further outline progress on priority legislative reforms that seek to reinforce South Africa’s anti-corruption framework.
In addition, the Minister will address matters concerning the independence of the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) and the value of its collaboration with independent research organisations, highlighting the strategic benefits these partnerships bring to the prosecutorial environment.
The briefing will also reflect on initiatives underway to further capacitate the NPA, particularly in handling allegations of improper conduct or misconduct within its Investigating Directorates, as part of broader institutional strengthening efforts.
