The Deputy Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mr Andries Nel, will on Tuesday, 15 April 2025, address Youth and the Constitution Dialogue in commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of the Freedom Charter at Brigitte Mabandla Justice College in Pretoria.
The dialogue themed “Freedom in Our Hands: Youth Shaping Constitutional Democracy” aims to educate, inspire, and mobilize young people to actively participate in governance, social cohesion, and the electoral processes. The dialogue is a collaborative effort bringing together key stakeholders from various sectors to provide a multi-dimensional perspective on youth democratic participation in local governance, social cohesion, nation-building and economic participation.
The dialogue will feature the participation of key stakeholders including the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Independent Electoral Commission of South Africa, Commission for Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Communities, South African Human Rights Commission and National Youth Development Agency.
