The Deputy Minister of Justice & Constitutional Development, Mr John Jeffery, will on 13 March 2020, deliver a keynote address at the South African National Aids Council (SANAC) breakfast meeting in Sandton. He will deliver the address in his capacity as the Co-Chairperson of the Legal & Human Rights Technical Task Team.
SANAC seeks to prevent and combat stigma as well as discrimination of those affected by HIV/AIDS and TB. The address will be followed by discussion with legal practitioners, human rights practitioners and activists in an effort to rally the legal fraternity behind South Africa’s National Human Rights Plan. Retired Judge Edwin Cameron and other social justice activists will also form part of the discussions.
