Justice Department to host Under-The-Tree Dialogues to end Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF)

As part of ongoing efforts to combat gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF), the Deputy Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mr John Jeffery, will deliver the keynote address at the Under-the-Tree Dialogue for men and boys in Brits, North West, on Friday, 28 February 2020.

Under-the-Tree Dialogues are undertaken across the country to engage with men and boys to change patriarchal attitudes and beliefs which contribute to gender inequality and gender-based violence and femicide. The dialogues form part of the Department’s programme in terms of Government’s Emergency Response Action Plan to GBVF, as announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa last year.

A number of key role-players from both Government and civil society will be attending the event.
