Minister Ronald Lamola to visit Galeshewe Sexual Offences Court

The Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Ronald Lamola will on 10 January 2020, visit the Galeshewe Sexual Offences Court in Kimberly to engage with officials and members of the public on the functioning of the court.

Sexual Offences Court were reintroduced by the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development in August 2013 to provide specialised redress to victims of sexual offences and to reduce the turnaround time in the finalisation of sexual offences cases.

The Galeshewe Court is among 92 Sexual Offences Court around the country that are aimed at ensuring a victim-centred approach to prosecution that minimises secondary victimisation of complainants.
