Deputy Minister Jeffery to mobilize communities to act against women and children abuse

The Deputy Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, John Jeffery will address the community members as part of 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children Abuse campaign in Soshanguve, Gauteng on Friday, 09 December 2016.
 
The campaign, which is being celebrated under the theme: “Count me in: together moving a non-violent South Africa forward” aims to mobilize stakeholders across society to unite against all forms of abuses against women and children. It also encourages individual and community activism to stop the scourge of abuse.
 
During the event, the Deputy Minister will be handing over cheques to 200 maintenance beneficiaries whose monies were unclassified. Various stakeholders such as SASSA, NPA, SAPS, DOJ&CD, and the Department of Social Development will participate in the event.
