The Deputy Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mr. John Jeffery, will engage in a dialogue with women in law at the Southern Sun Hotel, OR Tambo International Airport, Gauteng on Saturday, 27 August 2016.
The two day dialogue seeks to bring together women from the legal fraternity and aspirant women lawyers to engage on the achievements of women lawyers in the past 60 years and challenges that they encounter on day to day basis.
This dialogue is organized by the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development in partnership with National Association of Democratic Lawyers (NADEL), Black Lawyers Association (BLA), Advocates for Transformation (AFT), Law Society of South Africa (LSSA), Students for Law and Social Justice, South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) and Commission for Gender Equality (CGE). It is envisaged that the dialogue will provide an opportunity for women in law to deliberate on issues affecting the transformation of the legal profession.
