As part of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Constitution, Deputy Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mr John Jeffery, MP will have a dialogue with Orange Farm community on the importance of the Constitution on Wednesday, 01 June 2016 at Orange Farm Multi-Purpose Centre, Gauteng province.
The main aim of this dialogue is to promote awareness of constitutional rights for and encourage marginalized and vulnerable communities to use their rights to enhance their livelihood. This dialogue is in line with Socio Economic Rights For All Programme, popularly known as Amarightza which was launched in 2014 to ensure that citizens know their rights, how to access them and where to go when their rights are violated.
It is envisaged that after this dialogue, the community of Orange Farm will know more about the Constitution and understand its role in our constitutional democracy. The dialogue is a partnership between the Department, Foundation for Human Rights as well as civil society organisations.
