The Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Adv TM Masutha (MP) yesterday officially announced the resignation of Ms Nonkululeko Sindane, the Director-General of the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development. Ms Sindane will be pursuing opportunities elsewhere.
In announcing her resignation today, Minister Masutha acknowledged the contribution of Ms Sindane in the Department. “When I joined the Department in 2014, I was pleased to find a capable administrator who had already distinguished herself in her role, through among others, securing the unqualified audits of the Department from 2012/13 onward. Other key priorities that she has championed during her tenure have been the transformation of the justice system and the empowerment of women,” said Minister Masutha.
Ms Sindane thanked the Minister and the staff of the Department for their support during her tenure. She took the helm of the Department in January 2009. Her resignation was accepted by Minister Masutha yesterday, and she will serve a month-long notice period. An acting appointment will be announced in due course.
