Minister Masutha responds to Contralesa’s letter for pardon

The Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Advocate Michael Masutha has responded to the letter which served as an application for pardon by Congress of Traditional Leaders of South Africa’s (Contralesa) in respect of King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo.

In the letter Minister Masutha is seeking clarity on certain issues and requested further information which is necessary for the consideration of their application.

This comes after he received a letter from Contralesa requesting pardon for King Dalindyebo.

Minister Masutha’s response was sent to Contralesa on 29 February 2016.

In the meantime, King Dalindyebo is serving 12 years imprisonment at the East London Maximum Correctional Centre.
