Witnesses: Expert DNA Evidence – All Prosecutors in the NPA identified through the competency assessment-, observation, and/or Performance Assessment Process and Regional and High Court Prosecutors who are required to demonstrate an ability to regulate, control, direct, institute and conduct criminal proceedings in all matter where DNA evidence is required to prove the case beyond reasonable doubt. The purpose of the programme is to ensure that the Prosecutors have a proper understanding of what DNA evidence entails and how to effectively present this evidence in court.

[Li01] Newly Appointed Court Interpreters - Newly appointed court interpreters rendering services in district courts. To ensure that learners attending the programme gain an understanding of the basic principles of court interpreting and be knowledgeable of the role as well as the functions expected of an official Court Interpreter. To prepare Court Interpreters to have the ability to deal with complex matters involving Criminal law, Criminal procedure, Civil law and Law of evidence. [Mo01] Programme for Clerks in the Masters’ Offices - This programme is aimed at clerks and registry officers attached to the Office of the Master of the High Court. The programme is aimed at providing the target audience with the necessary background relating to the five key functions of the Master of the High Court and to provide them with an appreciation of the key role each functionary plays in achieving the objectives of the Master of the High Court.

[Mo02] Programme on the application of the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 in Public Bodies - The course is aimed at Information Officers, Deputy Information Officers and their support personnel attached to public bodies. The purpose of this course is to provide the target group with the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to apply the Promotion of Access to Information Act, Act 2 of 2000 in practice.

[Mo03] Programme on the Appointments and Supervision of Estates under Tutorship, Curatorship and Administration - This programme is aimed at Assistant Masters and Estate Controllers attached to the Office of the Master of the High Court who issues letters of appointment to tutors, curators and administrators in the estates of persons in need of assistance; and regulates the work of those tutors, curators and administrators. The purpose of this programme is to provide the target audience with the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to issue letters of appointment to tutors, curators and administrators in the estates of persons in need of assistance and to regulate the work of those tutors, curators and administrators.

[Mo04] Programme for the Guardian’s Fund - This programme is aimed at Assistant Masters, State Accountants, Estate Controllers, Registry Officers and Clerks attached to the Office of the Master of the High Court or a Service Point of the Master who performs the statutory functions of the Guardian’s Fund. Since places for this course is limited, application for admission is subject to approval by the Office of the Master of the High Court. The reason for the selection is that the course work needs to be done on the Fund’s electronic case management system and space in the computer laboratory is limited. Selection will be based on the Master’s operational requirements. The purpose of this programme is to provide the target audience with the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to perform the financial tasks associated with the Guardian’s Fund and to deal with the legal issues assigned to the Fund by the Administration of Estates Act, 1965 and by other legislation.

[Mo12] Workshop on Customary Marriages - The workshop is aimed at Assistant Masters and Estate Controllers who experience the challenges associated with the application of the Recognition of Customary Marriages Act, 1998 in their daily activities. Participants must be willing to share their experiences their colleagues and must be willing to propose methods of dealing with their challenges critically. The purpose of this workshop is to identify challenges with regard to the application of the Recognition of Customary Marriages Act, 1998 when administrating the estate of a deceased spouse, to propose possible resolutions to these challenges and to assess the legal implications of the proposed solutions.
