PRESS STATEMENT: PROVISIONAL PROGRAMME FOR PUBLIC HEARINGS OF COMMISSION OF INQUIRY INTO THE RAPID DEPRECIATION OF THE EXCHANGE RATE OF THE RAND AND RELATED MATTERS FOR MAY 2002

This statement serves to inform members of the media and public that the  provisional programme for the public hearings of the Commission during May 2002 will be as follows:

  • 2 May 2002: George Papadakis (Gobodo Forensics), Allan  Immelman (Deloitte & Touche);
  • 3 May 2002: Alison Beck (KPMG);
  • 6 May 2002: Standard Bank; and
  • 7 May 2002: SARB

Please note that the evidence of Allan Immelman will be continued on 3 May 2002 should circumstances so require.
