Deputy Minister Jeffery to preside over the Men’s Dialogue Against Intimate Femicide

The Deputy Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mr John Jeffery (MP), will preside over the men’s dialogue against intimate femicide in Pretoria on Tuesday, 20 June 2017. The dialogue seeks to develop prevention strategy that will assist the government in dealing with the scourge of intimate femicide and gender based violence.

Violence against women and children in the country has reached an alarming and traumatizing level. Every week the South African media report on the gruesome killings of women and young children, either by their intimate partners, relatives, or strangers. The media has reported a massive figure of over 30 femicide cases since January 2017.
