Deputy Minister Jeffery to introduce members of the Information Regulator to media and stakeholders

The Deputy Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mr John Jeffery, will officially introduce members of the Information Regulator to the media and stakeholders in Cape Town on 13 February 2017, 12h00.
The Information Regulator is empowered to monitor and enforce compliance by public and private bodies in line with the provisions of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 and the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013. It is also responsible for issuing codes of conduct for different sectors and to make guidelines to assist bodies with the development and application of codes of conduct.
Members of the media will also be briefed on the progress made by the Office of the Information Regulator since its members took office on 1 December 2016.
