Minister Masutha to address the 25th anniversary celebration of the Office of the Family Advocate in Kimberley

The Minister of Justice and Correctional Services Adv. Michael Masutha (MP) will deliver a keynote address at the 25th anniversary celebration of the Office of the Family Advocate in Kimberly on Friday, 02 October 2015. The Minister will be accompanied by the Premier of the Northern Cape, Ms Sylvia Lucas, MEC of Social Development, Mr Mxolisa Sokatjha and non-governmental organisations.

The primary role of the family advocate’s office is to assist parents/ parties to reach an agreement on disputes regarding care, custody and contact of children through unbiased mediation. The Northern Cape office of the Family Advocate handles most of the cases relating to custody and care of the children.

Members of the surrounding communities will also have an opportunity to interact with the Minister, Premier and MEC at an Imbizo. Members of the media are invited as follows:
