Gauteng Moot Competition Provincial Round 2015

The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development will be hosting the Gauteng Provincial Moot Court Competition in collaboration with the Department of Basic Education; the University of Pretoria, the Foundation of Human Rights and Law Society of South Africa on Saturday, 19 September 2015.
The competition gives the learners an opportunity to get the court exposure, by way of participating as attorneys/advocates in a mock court proceeding. The objective of this competition is to build unity and harmony between the different and diverse sections of the South African Society through the promotion, protection and appreciation of constitutional values.
The Moot Court Competition was created, amongst other things to empower and encourage young South Africans, especially those in grade 10 and 11 from all the provinces including private and public schools to understand and relate to human rights concepts, values and principles to daily life activities at the interpersonal and intrapersonal level.
